WGD Customs Limited (“we” or “us”) is the data controller for wgdcustoms.com. This policy covers visitors, customers and people who contact us. 2. Information we collect
Depending on your interaction, we collect your name, email, telephone number, account details, billing and delivery addresses, order history, sizes, personalisation text or artwork, messages and payment references or status. Payment providers process payment credentials. We may receive delivery details from someone ordering for you and payment or delivery updates from providers. Technical records may include IP address, browser, device, security logs and cookie information. Please provide only information needed for your request; do not send card PINs or passwords in messages.
3. Why we use it and our lawful bases
Contract: to answer purchase enquiries, manage accounts, fulfil and personalise orders, arrange delivery and handle returns. Legal obligation: to keep required transaction records and meet lawful regulatory requests. Legitimate interests: to secure the website, prevent fraud, handle general enquiries and resolve disputes, where these interests do not override your rights. Consent: for optional marketing, non-essential cookies and promotional use of identifiable customer images. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. Without essential order details, we may be unable to fulfil your purchase.
4. Cookies, marketing and public content
Essential cookies support the basket, checkout, login and security. Any optional analytics, advertising or tracking cookies require your prior choice and can be rejected or withdrawn through cookie controls. Browser settings also control cookies, but blocking essential ones may affect shopping. Marketing is optional; unsubscribe or contact us at any time. If you post a public review, its content and display name are visible to others. If you choose to join a WhatsApp group, other members may see your number and profile information under WhatsApp settings.
5. Sharing and overseas processing
We share only necessary data with payment providers, couriers, customisation partners, hosting and IT providers, professional advisers and authorities where lawfully required. We do not sell personal data. Providers acting for us must protect it and follow our instructions. Where processing occurs outside Nigeria, we require a lawful transfer basis, such as adequate protection or appropriate contractual safeguards. 6. Retention and security
Our retention schedule is: unsuccessful enquiries, up to 12 months after closure; account information, while the account remains active; necessary order and accounting records, six years after the transaction; routine security logs, up to 90 days. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe, with a minimal suppression record to respect your choice. A legal duty or active dispute may require longer retention of relevant records. We then delete or anonymise data. We use appropriate access controls and security measures and notify affected people and the NDPC of breaches where legally required.
7. Your rights
Subject to lawful exceptions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing (including direct marketing), and withdraw consent. You may challenge significant solely automated decisions and request human review; we will not make such decisions without the required legal basis, notice and safeguards. You can complain directly to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng without contacting us first.
8. Children and updates
Purchases should be made by adults. Where a parent or guardian supplies a child’s details for personalisation, provide only what is necessary and ensure appropriate authority or consent. Contact us about any inappropriate collection. We will date policy updates and notify you of material changes; new consent will be obtained where required.
